Mexican Hot Chocolate Recipe

Hi there! Brrrrrr....it's cold here! Here in central Texas is in the low 40s, and since I'm not used to this weather, I really crave something to keep me warm like hot chocolate...mmmhh!

Oh my God, my husband makes the best Mexican hot chocolate and yesterday he made some, so I wanted to share this delicious recipe with you.

*If you are interested in this recipe and you are outside the US or Mexico, please check online or your local Mexican or Latino food markets so you can find an authentic Mexican chocolate.
------------------------------------------------------------
Mexican Hot Chocolate Recipe (serves 4)

8    cups of milk
1    teaspoon ground cinnamon
12  ounce can of evaporated milk
9    ounce of chocolate POPULAR (authentic Mexican chocolate beverage mix) or chocolate ABUELITA by Nestle.
(Optional-marshmallows)

Pour the milk in a large saucepan set at medium heat. Then, when the milk is warm add the chocolate bars, evaporated milk and ground cinnamon to the milk. Stir constantly until the chocolate comes to a rolling boil, it takes about 25 minutes before it boils...Don't forget to keep stirring... believe me is worth it. Make sure the chocolate comes to a rolling boil for about 5 minutes and voila! you have a delicious Mexican hot chocolate. Let it rest for some minutes otherwise you will burn yourself because it's hot! Add some marshmallows if you like.

Well, I hope you'll enjoy this recipe, make sure to come back soon because I'm gonna post a tutorial for a chocolate gift idea. Byeee!

Hola!

Saludos!
